Lets play Aliens Dark Descent: Part 48: ''Fixing Your Bugged Save File''
1Did you accidently brick your entire campaign? have no fear, special thanks to thomas.g for revealing the save file locations and how to recover your progress at the expense of a level reset.
Step 1: navigate to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\ASF\Saved\SaveGames
open the folder and keep it open
Step 2: create new campaign, complete enough dead hills objectives to trigger an auto save, by playing until you find the man in the bed with the face hugger on his face.
Step 3: Exit game.
Step 4: navigate to the fresh brand new campaign, and copy the map level with the name corresponding to your primary campaign maps issues. Sometimes the names don't match, so if your confused, use the name referenced in the mission screen. My example being ''refinery'' and ''harpers hell olduvai''
Step 5: Open your main primary campaign maps save file and paste over the bugged level with your fresh brand new campaigns level.
Step 6: Load your ''old'' primary campaign to check for the new campaign levels changes.
Step 7: Deploy mission to your newly resurfaced map, to check and confirm changes are complete successfully.

''How to complete reset a mission when game breaking bug occurs
Here is how you reset a complete mission if you cannot go on because of bugs and don’t have a savegame from before the start.
1. Go to c:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Local\ASF\Saved\SaveGames\
(The “AppData” folder is hidden.)
2. Enter your last “Otago” folder for example “Campaign0_AutoSave_Otago_BeforeMission”. All missions without progress have a sav file that is 1,144 bytes in size (with exact the same file content).
3. Replace the file of the mission you are stuck (search the name in the internet) with a copy of one of the 1.144 byte sized files.
Now you’ll start the mission from scratch (with having lost the days until now).''
