(Let's Play) Alvara // -Insert funny title here- // First 20 Minutes
I've been waiting for a game like this for some time now... A game that leaves me still unsure of what to write about!
This game has so much wasted potential, at least in my opinion. The story isn’t bad—for a classic RPG—but sadly, there are a few things that are a bit jarring.
Please note, these are purely my personal opinions, and some of these aspects may or may not be manageable in the game itself.
After playing for a few minutes:
- Regarding the movement keys (and I’m not sure if this is the same in France), they start with an AZERTY layout, so you’ll need to change them.
- For me, this game feels like it’s trying a bit too hard. Sometimes, simpler is better. I understand the devs wanting to showcase the best of their abilities, but occasionally, it feels overdone.
- One of the biggest annoyances is the simpleton who’s supposed to teach you the game. It's not his method that bothers me but rather the animation that plays when he's explaining things. It’s not a natural movement; he seems to be... dancing? It makes it distracting when I’m trying to read important instructions that help with understanding the game.
- It throws a lot of information at you within the first 20 minutes, which can be overwhelming, especially for a first playthrough.
- Lastly, at the start of the game, don’t forget to save in your house in the village!
In the end, it’s a “maybe” game for me. You’ll have to try it yourself to see what you think.
