(Let's Play) Thyria // A Great Dungeon Crawler'ish Turn-Based RPG // First 20 Minutes
First Things First: The game is challenging in the early stages, so read everything through if possible and start with as much knowledge as you can.
Second: Gather as many Mandrakes as possible in the dream world, as they will help you defeat the demons that haunt you!
It’s been a while since I’ve had this much fun playing an RPG. I mean, what more could you want? You play as a "Dreamcatcher," curing people from their nightmares. You can craft potions, items, and guardians, upgrade them, use them—and if your guardians die, they’re gone for good! You’ll need to check your cube regularly, crafting and adding circuits to improve it. Your guardians have spells that differ between Day and Night, impacting gameplay in the "Dream" world.
During the "Dream," you’ll encounter turn-based battles where your guardians come into play. (I had to experiment a bit to fully understand the gameplay and features.) As mentioned, your guardians’ spells change between night and day, so be cautious!
The game is well-made and has great replayability. The only downside for me (just a personal opinion) is the "comical" graphics. They’re not bad, but I would have preferred more realistic graphics for such a deep, lore-rich game.
Well done! A big thumbs up!
