4There are still random contracts we have to take before the next story mission will open up. Although, I still don't feel too comfortable with having a rich person ask for me by name.
And I was not correct about the mission difficulty increasing as you progress story-wise. It does increase, but it goes up according to the MRB rating you have, which slightly increases with every successful mission you have.
