Let's Play Bayonetta 2 Wii U Demo - Quick Look (First Impressions)
GameFaceDUO - Let's Play Bayonetta 2 Wii U Demo - Quick Look (First Impressions)!
The demo for Bayonetta 2 just came out on October 9th, so Lin and I are taking a quick look at it so we can get some first impressions! It seemed to make sense to cover this during Halloween Month on GameFace because... Witches. Right?
Bayonetta 2 is an action hack and slash video game developed by Platinum Games and published by Nintendo for the Wii U, with Sega as the franchise owners serving as its advisor. It is the direct sequel to the 2009 game, Bayonetta, and was directed by Yusuke Hashimoto and produced by Atsushi Inaba, under supervision by series creator Hideki Kamiya. Interestingly, the sequel to Bayonetta is exclusive to the Wii U, unlike the previous game which was only available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Bayonetta is rocking a new costumer and shorter hair style and I'm a big fan of her new look! Bayonetta 2 also features a 2 player multiplayer mode, and the original Bayonetta game! In traditional Nintendo style, they have included some costumes for Bayonetta. There's a Peach costumer from Mario, a Link costume from Zelda, a Samus costume from Metroid, and a Fox costume from Star Fox! They look very silly. I love it.
So, onto our little Bayonetta 2 Demo Review, or our first impressions... or whatever. First off, Bayonetta looks damn sexy! Such hotness. Why can't she be in Smash Bros... Anyway, the game looks really nice, and as far as I can tell runs nice and smooth. There so much going on visually, it's a little overwhelming but really fun to watch. I actually had a hard time commentating, as there was just so much to take in visually while playing Bayonetta 2. It looks great though, and everything is very fast paced and high action. I really like the art direction, and the crazy hair dragon things, and angels that appear of insanely designed. Props to those who come up with these crazy things!
The gameplay in Bayonetta 2 feels really nice. Bayonetta's gameplay has always reminded me of Devil May Cry, and it flows naturally and doesn't take long to get the hang of. To do well, you basically want to to dodge enemy attacks at the right time to activate "Witch Time", which slows down the enemies in a bullet time style. Overall, I don't really have any complaints yet. I'm excited to play the final version!
