I know I complained about how the story just wasn't pulled off all that well around Cerl and Alan. It's not hardware limitations, because there were many, many other SNES games that could pull off a sad story. They just flubbed the writing here in not letting us get to know Alan and Cerl soon or well enough for us to gain an attachment to the couple.
So, we tried to get past the fortress before, but were foiled by the fortress being solid and, you know, present. Now that it's neither of those things, we can continue on the path towards Scande. And maybe towards even more power, but we have the issue of missing Nina to deal with first.
