Our team's "honest cop" contact swoops in and arrests the 3 co-conspirators, but holds off on raiding Tsai Weapons Labs so we can get Dr. Coldor out first. It turns out that Dr. Coldor had gotten a little befuddled and thought PURGE was NEO! :(
Anyway, her speciality appears to have been creating "carniferns" (the SF version of AD&D shambling mounds or Bits O'Moander). Fortunately: 1) carniferns (unlike shambling mounds) are vulnerable to fire damage from grenades & rocket launchers; and 2) Dr. Coldor has devised a "hummer" gadget which seems to drive them off (when it works).
Now that Dr. Coldor is no longer confused about which outfit Sid Refuge is working for, she and we split up, with our team blowing up doors until we finally find a central security computer which Podkayne can hack to disable the locks all at once. In another room, Scotty hacks a different computer to spritz all of Tsai Weapons Labs with weedkiller (thus disposing of the carniferns) and jam the launch bay doors over the PURGE scout ship containing Dr. Coldor's research. We sneak into the launch bay area, overpower the PURGE forces, and retrieve Dr. Coldor's notes . . .
. . . but then our own spaceship has a bit of a "computer malfunction" as we leave Copernicus base! :(
