Let's Play CART Fury - How the Open-Wheel War was Lost
Before the mass exodus of teams, drivers, sponsors and engine manufacturers from CART to the Indy Racing League, CART was the biggest racing series in America. A series of bad decisions and worse circumstances caused them to go bankrupt by 2003.
Not only did those bad decisions include a Sylvester Stallone movie (Driven - never watch it) but it included Midway's arcade racing game, CART Fury. Cut from the same cloth as NHL Hitz and NFL Blitz, the game captured all the spectacular crashes without any of the fun or glamour of motorsport. So let's look back at only one of CART's bad decisions of that led to its ultimate demise.
