[2:43] Deployment, again in separate groups toward the river
Turn 1 [4:57] Smoke and bridge, troops use cover to advance in the night
Turn 2 [8:22] The troops scamper across the Douve, traverse along the river bank to fording over point
Turn 3 [10:30] More and more men cross the Douve, but are they being tracked?
Turn 4 [13:02] The crossing continues, the left group seek speedier trek through wooded area to keep up
Turn 5 [15:26] Artillery starts pounding suspected bunker positions (with unfortunate collateral damage)
Turn 6 [17:42] Clash by the Douve, casualties
Turn 7 [20:19] More enemy from where they last appeared, now the armor cross the river
Turn 8 [22:47] The bridgehead expands as the left group struggles to keep pace
Turn 9 [25:27] The inevitable fire from the sky, along with enemy armor rumbling along N13
Turn 10 [27:43] German artillery ransacks one group into oblivion
Turn 11 [30:49] German defences along the N13, the artillery continues to pound us into submission
Turn 12 [33:44] Is this the end of the enemy artillery fire? The group along the highway pushes forward to another battle
Turn 13 [35:49] First concrete bunker revealed, the left group continues to the Douve
Turn 14 [38:09] Germans on the watch over Douve await our approach, the rest keep the march on N13
Turn 15 [40:14] The inevitability (and invincibility) of the bunker, firefight erupts over the Douve
Turn 16 [43:30] Small victories, and marching ever closer to the dreaded fork in the highway
Turn 17 [46:03] Breaking Geneva conventions and the German reserves come out to investigate
Turn 18 [48:42] The other bunker opens up, and our German friend escapes

The second battle in the night seems fortuitous as the darkness limits visibility and allows the bulk of the troops concealment as they vie to cross the bridge over the Douve. The Germans have their own strategy of not trying to battle directly but use their own flanking to hit us from the side, while eradicating any group engaged in combat. There are not lot of weapons available effective against the concrete beasts that stand guard over the causeway that is the only road into Carentan. Panic sets in, or is there other way around the defensive strongholds? Will the bad habits surface to force another battle into stalemate as the troops only have Shermans to count on to the last turn of the battle?
