Picking up where Crash Bandicoot 1 left off Dr. Cortex falls from his space thing he was riding on during the final confrontation with Crash Bandicoot and then one year later Cortex had his new assistant N. Gin create these crystals and informs Cortex once he has all the pink crystals he could rule the world with it or something like that so he decides to have Crash search for all the pink crystals for him just to take them away from him.
