In this episode we stock up on supplies, and with the Flute of Lime in hand, head to the waterfall as the queen suggested. Once inside, we encounter some people who have been turned into statues by the Medusae lurking inside. Using the Flute of Lime, we return them to the land of the living, and head deeper inside the cavern to search for Akahana's whereabouts. Along the way, we encounter Medusae, creatures that can turn us to stone, and quickly realize they are immune to our current arsenal of swords. Undaunted, we continue deeper into the waterfall cave, and come upon a treasure chest containing the Sword of Water. With this new sword we can finally fight back, and we do so with aplomb. Cutting through the now-vulnerable Medusae, we finally find Akahana, but he has been turned to stone. Luckily, we discovered another Flute of Lime along the way, and use it to cure him of his petrification. He gifts us the Shield Ring for restoring him, but says we are now even. With our new sword and ring, we exit the cavern and return to the fortune teller, who foretells that someone is waiting for us in a lake to the South. We disembark after learning that the boat rental shop's owner is furious that he has misplaced his lantern. Once we arrive at the lake, we are greeted by Rage, the guardian of the sacred Tree of Lime. He gifts us the Ball of Water, a magical item that can be use to increase our Sword of Water's charge attack to level 2, which will also create ice bridges over narrow waterways. We immediate do so to enter the cavern behind the lake, inside of which we find another device similar to the one we originally awoke from. A hologram appears, introducing herself as Mesia, and although she has already gone ahead, she pleads with us to catch up to her. In the hopes that she can help us understand ourselves and what exactly is going on, we hurry back to town to visit the queen in the hopes that she can help us.

Upon arrival outside the throne room, the guard on duty informs us that the queen requested he tell us of the secret passage beyond the chamber. Following the passage, we can now create bridges using our Sword of Water to traverse the area. When we finally come upon the queen, she reveals herself as both the queen and the fortune teller, yet is neither! It is actually Asina, one of the wisepeople who strive to guide us on our journey. She teaches us the Recover spell, which can cure various status ailments, and quests us to calm the whirlpools of the Angry Sea, offering the reward of the Barrier spell if we succeed. Charged with this new quest, we make our way back to Portoa, but take a small detour to help an injured dolphin. After healing his wounds with a Medical Herb, he gifts us the Shell Flute, an item we can use to call him once we reach the Angry Sea. With many new items in tow, we head back to Portoa to finish exploring the rest of Waterfall Valley.
