In this episode we take our newly transformed Statue of Gold and ride our dolphin to the Sea Shrine. Upon returning the statue to its rightful pedestal, the whirlpools in the Angry Sea dissipate, and Asina contacts us telepathically to teach us the Barrier spell, allowing us to use our magic to create an impenetrable wall around ourselves. The sea is now calm enough to allow us to travel to the northern area, and we soon arrive at a new town: Swan. In town, we learn from Stom that Kensu is hiding in town, disguised, and that we must find him and get him to travel to Shyron at the base of Mt. Hydra to join with the other wisepeople. A telepathic clue from Zebu tells us that we can use our paralysis magic to reveal Kensu's true form, and we manage to hunt him down despite his magical deception. When we hand him the Love Pendant, a gift to him from Asina, he teaches us the Change spell and teleports away to Shyron. With this new magic, we can alter our appearance to our advantage, and immediately put it to good use by traveling to the town of Amazones, where only women live. We magically Change into a woman to gain the trust of the townspeople, who let us in on an important secret: Queen Aryllis is interested in creating a perfume from the Kirisa Plant, something we just so happen to have with us. The throne room guard lets us enter due to our magical disguise, and when we give the Queen the Plant, she gifts us the Bow of Moon, an item of unclear utility, but seemingly important nonetheless. Before leaving, we check behind the throne room where we find the Blizzard Bracelet, allowing us access to the Sword of Water's powerful level 3 charge attack.

Arriving back in Swan via Teleport, we transform into a Draygonian guard to fool the guards at the western gate out of town into allowing us passage. We then make our way to Shyron, at the base of Mt. Hydra, where things are dire indeed: Asina is tending to the wounded from Draygonian attacks around the clock, Tornel is attempting to train the townspeople to fight, but Sebu has begun to think their efforts are in vain. The mysterious metal that Draygonia has been mining has allowed them to create armor impervious to heat, allowing them to attack Shyron directly. We meet with Zebu in the temple at the northernmost point in town, and he gives us the Key of Styx, telling us of a sword more powerful than any we currently possess: the Sword of Thunder. It resides deep in caves even the wisepeople dare not go, at the summit of Mt. Hydra. Keen to get our hands on this tantalizing weapon, we make our preparations to climb the dangerous Mt. Hydra.
