In this episode we head inside the Fortress of Goa with our newly acquired Ball of Thunder and use it to destroy the Demon Wall that previously prevented our progress. We now take the fight directly to the finest four, starting with General Kelbesque. The General proves to be even more powerful than before, but so are we, and we defeat him with our Tornado Bracelet and rescue Zebu, who restores our health and magic before we venture deeper into the Fortress. On the second level, we encounter Sabera the Witch, and defeat her yet again with our Flame Bracelet, freeing Zebu. Mesia, however, is nowhere to be found, despite the fact that we last saw her with Sabera, so we dauntlessly continue deeper still. Mado resides on the third floor, and he easily falls to the Blizzard Bracelet, freeing Asina, leaving only Mesia and Kensu to still be rescued. We find Kensu on the fourth floor, but he has been transformed into a slime by Karmine the Sorcerer! He warns us of Karmine's power, and advises us to use a nearby shortcut to find him. We take the wiseman's advice, and after dropping down to the floor below, head north to confront Karmine in the hope of undoing Kensu's transformation. Karmine proves a difficult foe, but our resolve is stronger, and in his defeat he leaves behind an Ivory Statue, the item we need to restore Kensu. We quickly bring him the Statue, and as thanks for our help, he teaches us the magic of Flight, a spell that will allow us to traverse some previously inaccessible areas; namely atop Mt. Hydra. Draygon has escaped with Mesia, but before we follow him we have to tie up some loose ends, firstly by exploring the waterway beneath the fortress. There we find a few powerful items: the Leather Boots, which grant us the ability to walk over damaging ground without feeling the effects, the Power Ring, a magic ring that will greatly increase our attack power, and the Battle Armor, a unique piece of gear that will protect us from poison. After exiting the cavern, we have a few errands to run before giving chase to Draygon, the first of which lies in Goa. Akahana mentioned that he left something with a friend there, so we immediately teleport there and use the change spell to take on his appearance. A man there is deceived into returning the loaned item to us, and it turns out to be the Warrior Ring, an item more powerful than we could have imagined! It changes our basic attack to a level 1 charge attack, no charging needed! We then make preparations to climb to the summit of Mt. Hydra once more to search for more powerful items to aid us for the coming battle with Draygon.
