Let's Play Dark Souls 3 - BOW ONLY! Episode 15 brings me deeper into the Catacombs of Carthus! There's a lot of bone-heads around here, and they need some serious bonking. Unfortunately, skeletons do not make for good pincushions... and arrows do not make for good bonkers. Skeletons make for a pretty challenging bow playthrough! I'd probably be better off smacking them with my bow instead of shooting arrows, lol.
The Catacombs of Carthus can be a huge pain in the butt; there's a lot of enemies that just weave around and dodge a lot of attacks. If they don't dodge, well, they get up again. Spending twice the arrows to take down one enemy is definitely not worth it. Gathering all the treasure in this area is quite a chore, but with some careful maneuvers (and a little bit of luck) it's totally doable!
At the end of this area lies a boss... but I'm taking a route I've never taken before. Knocking down the bridge at the end of this area unlocks the path to the Smouldering Lake. In my previous personal playthroughs of Dark Souls 3, I'd always skipped this area simply because I didn't know you were supposed to go down the ladder. I had no idea there was anything down there aside from a couple items and a scary looking guy. What a fool I'd been! This area looks amazing, I can't wait to dive in and explore all of the Smouldering Lake - with just a bow!
