On the sixteenth episode of Let's Play Dead Space 3, we've escaped the slog of Disposal Services and have only one more piece of Rosetta to retrieve. After activating some more gas to burn out Necromorph growth blocking the path, we enter the Paleontology sector and fight a gauntlet of enhanced Necromorphs to claim our last slice of alien ice. As we head back to Ellie, Carver, and Rosetta we have to contend with Unitologists and their patrolling gunships. Once we're in the lab, we have to figure out how to line up Rosetta's parts so we can do a proper scan and produce the new Codex. Upon activating the machine, we're shown a vision that reveals the truth behind the Machine and the scarred moon above the planet, which is not a moon at all. However, Danik takes advantage of the vision to slip in and once again hold us at gunpoint. Only to once again fail to kill us, and instead run off with the Codex. The room fills with burning gas, and we're forced to leave Ellie behind. An enraged Isaac pursues Danik to stop him from deactivating the Machine, which would awaken the moon once more.
