Let's Play Dead Space 3 Ep.15 The Worst Optional Mission
13On the fifteenth episode of Let's Play Dead Space 3, I make a terrible mistake and interrupt our search for the Rosetta slices to head into Disposal Services. This proves to be the worst, most bland optional mission in the game. Why? For starters, whole mission is set in the same giant S.C.A.F. tunnels we've seen a bunch of times by this point, and our only reason to come down here is "to see if any supplies survived the purge". So we don't even get a minor plot hook like some of the ones we did earlier. To top it off, someone thought it'd be great to stuff every combat encounter in here with a combination of armored Enhanced Fodders, Exploders, and Twitchers; they prove to be a very nasty combination in the very small sections of tunnel that make up most of the areas in here. Of course, I made the experience even worse by trying out the Bola weapon type, and forgetting to craft more healing. After we finally get our lackluster reward and head back up to the surface, we then have to head to the Paleontology building to obtain another piece of Rosetta in order to actually save our progress. On the way, we encounter the only two Spitters in the entire (non-DLC) game.
