I suppose we'll never know why Horatio hates us so much, maybe the writer didn't want to come up with a reason, or maybe he'll tell us if we beat him on vicious difficulty... who knows?

This was definitely the "benchmark" level of the game, though; to beat it means you can say you beat the game. It took everything I learned to get this far and do this well, as well as clever use of new items I found. All in all, it's poetic that it ended with a Thief, as that was the first class I unlocked (that it let me choose).

I'll keep going with Desktop Dungeons for a while longer, there's still gold challenges to get, as well as at least trying out half-dragons... and whatever else the game wants to give me.
