This mission is where the super heavy enemies come in, and it's here that I show off the usefulness of bringing a heavy machine gun to those encounters. Melee may still be the emphasis for points, but that doesn't dissuade you from using 50+ bullets to whittle down one of these guys so that they become open for a Melee Shot (which they are thankfully too slow to dodge). Alongside this, the Saha Unit are the first instance in which the enemies put up a concerted effort in shutting down your hand to hand finisher setups due to their speed. Lock Shots are a must in general, and it's here you may or may not consider always carrying a melee weapon around just for the purpose of throwing it into enemies, then picking back up to carry to the next fight. Though I didn't really abide by that advice while I was playing in the moment, but fuck it, I still beat my old score.

Outside of the score attack strats, even for as ugly looking as this game can be and unpolished in spots, I dare say the Grundla Saha fight is proof that even with the development hell status this game was in that Itagaki still had it. And to think some people had so much trouble with this guy when anyone with Ninja Gaiden experience instantly knows the way in which it's meant to be fought. It's dope. Pretty much all the SOD fights are dope, except maybe Big Mouse, but whatever that guy's easy.
