Few concepts open up the eyes to a difficulty of a game and it's maps quite like a "no scum save" situation, particularly one that requires a restart of an entire map (or even episodes in some cases!) on the front of your mind when you're facing almost certain death.

So far, of all the maps played, this has been the most harrowing of all combat situations thus far. The starting section is nothing short of brutal as you face a small onslaught of RPVs and their pig cops alike; a situation only exasperated by enhanced AI and double barrel shotguns, new pig cop tanks sporting quad barrel machine-guns, and barely alleviated by your faithful duke bots. Treat them well, because when used to great effect, they can see you through the initial wave relatively intact.

If you miss one especially vital secret, the brutality simply does not let up. Each room is jam packed with well placed pigs and enforcers with a good sprinkling of trooper dudes, with the fight for survival made only all the more detrimental by a new foe, and what a bastard he is. Meet the protector drone! Capable of shrinking and stomping anything that would pose a threat to their hive and queen, with deadly razor sharp talons to boot. Fortunately they're never in large groups, but treat them with respect and high priority all the same.

Fortunately, if you find a vital fake wall with your jetpack on the outside, much of the imposing opposition can be easily disposed of, and certain progressive sequences can be all but ignored. It certainly makes up for the ridiculous beginning.

This map also demonstrates what I like about this episode so much; variety. A spice well used in this episode.

Killing Scrappy also feels oh so satisfying.
