3Playthrough of Dune 2000 the spiritual succesor of Dune 2: The building of a Dynasty. Dune 2000 is the way it was meant to be played by the original development team, but could not publish it due to hardware limitations at the time.
Dune 2000 released in 1998, 6 years after it's original. A year full of some of the greatest games of all time. Starcraft, Half-Life, Unreal, Ocarina of Time, Railroad Tycoon 2, Thief, Pokemon Red and Blue. Among all that Dune 2000 was also competing with Command and Conquer releases done by it's own studio. Regardless the vast improvements done to the original speak of the passion the staff had for the game.
Among many quality of life changes, FMV cutscenes, some very famous actors, incredible music done by THE Frank Klepacki, gameplay changes, graphics, the game also saw a steep rise in general difficulty. The AI was merciless and supported with cheats, on hard difficulty your own units and buildings cost significantly more. Buildings now pose a significant threat when exploding. The debris flying around is enough to destroy lighter units instantly. The AI saw some other improvements and will get frequent reinforcements.
