I've always wanted to give Dwarf Fortress a go, and this is my first foray into the new GUI added version that was released on Steam. I may make this a regular series, but it will be infrequently updated as I check out the game.

My first encampment didn't go too horribly, but we'll see if it manages to survive through winter.

I'd appreciate any guidance on things I might do differently or consider adding!
