Let's Play Elder Scrolls Daggerfall! Part Eleven: ENCHANTMENT
Hermaeus Mora is the first Daedra we're summoning today. He is the prince of knowledge, and has a LOT of it to offer, and will stop at nothing to get what little knowledge he doesn't have. The Oghma Infinium, Hermaeus's artifact, contains the prince's own knowledge, which he gifted to the book's author, Xarses. (Made a little mistake explaining the book's origins in the video. Whoops!) The book and any other associated with the prince contain powerful knowledge but are also REALLY dangerous. Tread lightly if you find these books. Unless you're playing Arena, of course, in that case just read it over and over again.
Azura is the Daedric prince(ss) of vanity and beauty. In this game she's a LOT more vain than in the sequels. Or maybe she just gets better at being subtle. She was originally the patron deity of the Dark Elves, though worship of her decreased when the Tribunal, a trio of "mortal gods", emerged after a series of events we don't for sure know the truth about. Morrowind's nomads firmly believe Azura was backstabbed by the Tribunal, but the Tribunal's followers naturally tell a different tale. Some also say that this alleged betrayal was punished by Azura cursing the Dark Elves into their current form (whereas they used to be the Chimer, or Light Elves.) We might learn more about this if I decide to play Elder Scrolls 3 after I'm done with Daggerfall.
