Let's Play Everspace #35 - Knocking out Challenges
0Dipper here. In this episode we knock out a couple in-game Challenges. The first one is to "Leave the starting area with no equipment installed and make it to Sector 3." We cheese it with the Head Start enhancement, starting us at Sector 2, salvage all our stuff, All weapons, Devices, and Consumables, and rush it in the Sentinel. The other Challenges we kind of flubbed, but we completed the run, which gets us a bit of bonus cash.
The other Challenges on the docket were "Make it to Sector 4 without killing any ships or drones." We flubbed it when we popped a Drone Server in a Derelict Colonial Station, and kept shooting, thereby destroying its drones payload.
The backup challenge we attempted was "Complete 10 deals with the Trader." We got 9 done, but never ran across another Trader during the run. I believe we were hampered by the Predestination enhancement. While it's a lot of fun to have G&B and Okkar hostile to each other, the downside to that Enhancement, being you can't choose your own Jump Destinations makes it so you can't see the other lanes. You're really relying on RNG at that point.
