We also get an airship and it is the worst airship I have ever seen. In every Final Fantasy game, the airship allowed you to walk through it and would only activate if you hit the A button. In this, if you touch the airship at all, it will yank you in and take off. This is made worse by the fact that you always exit out the bottom when nearly all entrances are to the north of your position. Really really lazy design.
The unbeatable fight is something that a number RPGs including Final Fantasy had done. I did not mind it from a history telling perspective. But the whole matter of repeating what was already done in Final Fantasy VII fell a bit flat to me.
