Also, the thought didn't really occur to me until after rendering....but I'm beginning to wonder if Edgar isn't a bit of a reluctant King. He doesn't seem to notice or care that no one recognizes him outside of his own castle, and his title is "Machinist", rather than "King". Compare Edward of IV, whose title is "Prince" and not "Bard", despite that he's arguably the most famous FF bard.
