We face our first Esper Belias, This 15943 HP monster will use fire attacks on his opponents, one of which is Firaja that will cast Oil on his opponents. As ironic as it is, that is the gimmick with Belias and if you don't immediately get rid of the Oil status, the fire attacks can and will be instant death as they will do a maximum of 1000 HP. Let's not forget Sabre, that move will allow Belias' s physical attacks to become stronger as the fight progress. The reason I gave Balthier a gun is because I want to have at least one person out of the range of Belias's attacks and also if you sell enough loot you will end up buying a Vega and the Aqua Shot. With Belias down we finally receive the first and most important Esper in the game and the Dawn Shard. Something tells me, however, that it ain't over yet.
