Let's Play FTL: Faster Than Light - Ep. 1 Run 1 - I Finally Get My Hands On FTL!!
I've heard the hype, I've seen some LP's, I've seen the praise for FTL and finally I have it. I've been debating with myself for a bit over a month on whether or not to pick it up. Steam made it easy for me and when it went on sale I snatched it right up. I held off playing it till I was ready so you guys could see my first hands on experience with the game. Sadly I muted my mic, like a pro, as I was renaming my characters in the beginning. So I had a very solid 30 minutes of silence. (I'll keep the recording and maybe do some post commentary). So I decided to RESTART and give you the second look at my hands on experience. I'm 30 minutes smarter and we'll see how I do.
Subset games did an awesome job with this title and I'm really enjoying it. It starts off simple enough, but RNG is a scary thing. Knowing that in Dota 2 if RNG is in play, I'll usually fail. Random Number Generation ftl! Still it does make for some interesting problems and situations. So I'll leave you all with subset games website and FTL's link on steam with it's game description. Enjoy!

In FTL you experience the atmosphere of running a spaceship trying to save the galaxy. It's a dangerous mission, with every encounter presenting a unique challenge with multiple solutions. What will you do if a heavy missile barrage shuts down your shields? Reroute all power to the engines in an attempt to escape, power up additional weapons to blow your enemy out of the sky, or take the fight to them with a boarding party? This "spaceship simulation roguelike-like" allows you to take your ship and crew on an adventure through a randomly generated galaxy filled with glory and bitter defeat.
