In this JRPG, you have to "Catch 'em all!" Except it's not Pokemon you're catching, but cute pets. And then I guess you sell them to NPCs who want pets? And I think the whole opening sequence was something about how like, the prince wanted our talking dog as his pet? Anyway, instead of lowering their HP to 0, you instead have to chase after them by lowing the distance between you to 0 meters so you can presumably hug them and take them home with you.

The game is intended for young kids, obviously, but you can also tell because there is very little Kanji in the game. Everything is spelled out, which is nice if you're still learning japanese.
