Not all battle scars are positive and they accumulate. The more missions you do with a particular dungeoneer then more they stack up and there's always a risk that when you have so many you'll forget one in particular. That one trait can sometimes make all the difference between victory and defeat.

It's imperative that you keep track of all the battle scars that your dungeoneers accumulate, good or ill. Sometimes they'll make you change your mind on which dungeoneer you decide to send to do a mission.
