106The call to adventure comes in many forms. Some go out seeking adventure. Fame, glory, revenge, the sense of danger, a need to challenge themselves; all of them and many more and reasons people go and venture into the unknown. Then there are those who the call to adventure finds them, circumstances forcing them on quests. Seeking to save your hometown, trying to stop the evil sorcerer from conquering the kingdom, recovering the regalia of Sir Brigaaad the very old and possibly non-existent to bring peace to the lands or just 'because thou must'; all of these and many more are ways that fate conspires to make people adventure.
And then there's thinking you're sending one dungeoneer out on and adventure when you're actually sending a completely different one bout my mistake. Sometimes the call to adventure gets the wrong person, someone who's woefully ill-prepared for fighting deadly monsters and pushes them to questing anyway.
This is one of those times.
