Let's Play Guild of Dungeoneering 73: Formidable Preparation
88After facing off against the formidable snowman a few times now (including twice in an unfortunate instance where it didn't end up recording properly), I think I've managed to pin down my strategy for defeating this foe. I believe the key to dealing with the formidable snowman is threefold:
First, you need to be able to deal with the fear and loathing cards in some way or another, either by mitigating the damage or being able to recover the lost health quickly. Fate can help you deal with that to some extent.
Second, you need to be able to burst down the formidable snowman with some nasty damage dealing cards. Being able to take advantage of the mundane trait will help but is difficult, mainly because it's hard to get a lot of physical blocking cards and high magic damage cards without a very specific set of equipment.
Third, you need a lot of fate to help you draw the right cards, not make too many mistakes and have a little bit of luck thrown in for good measure.
With all of these and a lot of careful preparation, this time we might be able to achieve victory. Hopefully.
