Let's Play I Dun Wanna Be Anything (Blind) Part 02 - Platform Peril!
UPDATE: Thanks for the feedback guys, glad you think I did well =3
WARNING: Music at around 8 minutes is loud!
A few changes have been made to the game, bosses now have invulnerability shields and some triggers are removed. Because of this, I played from the beginning to see the changes. Also, here's my first time making big cuts to a video in a long time. Feels good to put this much effort into something again. How you guys think I did? I also cut out a couple attempts at the boss, since you guys have already seen me beat it. Main reason I left in most of the beginning re-play was because I was discussing important things throughout it.
Also, I said something around 8 minutes in that I didn't want in the recording (Keep in mind this was recorded a few days ago, before I decided to start making cuts again. I was talking about something that's now irrelevant and dumb) but I didn't want to cut the actual footage since it would have also meant cutting my victory run, (though I did cut the attempt just before the music since I started talking about it on that attempt and just left in where I died to the apples. Mentioning this because I don't want to set a false standard for when to cut things, first video of me doing this in a long time so stuff like that's important) so I replaced it with epic music. Maybe a bit too epic for that particular part but who cares? XD
The major cuts start coming in later, during that horrible platform segment. I allowed a few minutes of failure before I began cutting stuff out. Tried to leave in the best and most important parts. Took awhile, but I think it's worth it! =3 And I'm not gonna go into detail like this about what I cut on every single video, but this is the first time I've done it in ages so I figured I'd get a little feedback and see if you all think I did a good job with it.
As I mentioned in annotations in the update vid about this (incase you guys missed it) this will not be the only type of thing I cut, of course. Depending on the game and situation, various other types of things could be cut too. A few examples: Getting lost, confused, stuck, and making no progress for around 5 mins (similar to this, but the example I'm thinking of is like, RPGs or adventure games lol), lengthy, unskippable cutscenes that I have to watch a second time, large amounts of backtracking (this depends, if it's part of the story I'd leave it in but if its just to go back to get something I forgot or to buy items or whatever then it'll likely be cut), and well yeah, I think you all get the picture XD It depends on the game, scenario, etc, but I'm sure you all trust me to make a proper judgement of when to cut and what to cut, if it needs to be.
Also, 5 mins is the average amount of time I'll allow for uncut failure. Depending on exactly what it is, it may be a bit more or a bit less. In this case it was around 4. You could also say it's sort of the standard time allowed for me to get past a certain segment before cuts become required. For these "extensive" segments, I believe at least some failure should be shown in full, to give the viewer a good taste of what the segment's like and also because I think some normal footage should be shown anyway, and once it starts to go on for too long, the cuts come in, showing the best bits, then finally finishes off with the final victory run shown in full (which I failed to do in this video sadly XD But oh well)
