Let's Play Illusion of Gaia - Part 1 - Less Avatar, More Human!
So, we have the sequel to Soul Blazer here, and now we go from being a god, to being the avatar of a god, to a schoolboy named Will. Will is a somewhat normal boy that likes to smack things with a flute and jump off of high ledges. He also doesn't have any parents, and lives with his grandparents.
In short, he's a typical anime protagonist. And bucking the trend in games like this, Will isn't a completely silent protagonist. He will have things to say from time to time, but the way the script is, half the time it can be difficult to tell if some of the text is Will speaking or a narrator.
It's also way, way too easy to speed through text. Tapping the button to search things? You can tap right past the text telling you whatever it is you found. Advancing text? Some of the text advances automatically, and you might just advance text that just pops up.
Otherwise, this game is actually pretty solid. So, let's dive in to the second official game in this series.
