Let's Play Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb: Chapter 3 (Part 2 ) - Istanbul
The second part of Chapter 3 of my let's play of Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb.
Indy finds himself in the ruins underneath the modern day palace. Down here sharks freely roam, Nazis pop out of the walls, and grenades seem to have the blast radius of a small nuclear bomb. If you think you're clear of the explosion, do yourself a favor and take another 10 steps back, then another 10 afterwards! At the end of this water filled chapter, Indy finds himself face to face with the legendary Kraken, which has somehow survived down here for thousands of years (must be some incredibly special fish in the water). Fortunately he's a total pushover and you'll have that third piece in hand before you know it!
The second half of the Istanbul chapter is all about water. Every level is based around swimming and avoiding those nasty sharks in the depths. Thankfully you pick up the Spear gun on level 4 which helps out greatly. It's the only weapon in the game aside from the machete that you can use underwater. Your other major obstacle, especially on level 5 are the grenades. Throwing one of these things is like playing a game of Russian Roulette; the blast radius is so large, you never know who is going to take the brunt of the damage. To make matters worse, enemies can throw your own grenades back at you which can send Indy back to the beginning of the level with speed. Any situation that involves grenades is a hazardous one. At the end of the chapter, you face off against the third boss of the game: The Kraken, a giant octopus that pulls you towards it with weird puffy fungus balls in an attempt to eat your face. This however, is the only attack it has and if you know what you're doing, you should have no problem with this monster. Off to Hong Kong we go!
