0After the first level, it's time for the first EX level. EX levels are very short, don't have a boss with one exception, and generally focus around a single new gimmick. The gimmick for this one is that we're climbing a tower while an advancing floor of death moves below our feet. Reaching the top nets us the Giant's Wave, which makes the Earth Shaker actually useful.
Onwards from that, it's time for Pumpkin Valley, where we will find zombies and ghouls. I thought I read somewhere that the zombies in this level aren't REAL zombies, but given their heads fly off ... Syaxamaphone says that they're real, but I dunno ... ANYWAY, here we find Mimi the mimic, who is my favorite character in the game. She likes to hide in her box and use magic spells on you, but hitting it into the spiky walls makes her pretty defenseless, aside from a slide kick she has. She's also very cute. And snarky. Fittingly enough, the upgrade she gives us is Treasure Chest, which turns Chelshia into a Treasure Chest, effectively acting similar to Kirby's stone ability. Thankfully it's not as broken, as some attacks can hit you thru the chest, but it's still pretty powerful.
