Welcome to part two and the finale of my playthrough of Lighthouse Keeper (2022)
I'm gonna be honest folks: the wheels really fell offa this one in the end.
After visiting all the islands (because I didn't want to wait for quests to point me to them, and because nothing was stopping me) I hit a weird wall wherein I didn't actually know what to do next. It turns out I am supposed to murder a magic whale for... reasons? So I tried to do that, but then you don't actually do that, and then you have to travel the whole length of the map a couple times just because.
Upon conclusion of the game, I realized that all of the mechanics added to the game: food, farming, upgrades, trading, etc... what's the point to any of them? Hell even keeping the lighthouse working doesn't actually matter, since when it is operating, it just occasionally gives you some resources... which you don't use for much.
Also there's so much lore written in this game, and ... none of it matters. The Whale is referred to in one random text you find, and that's it. The rest of the Theology and Geopolitical Strife TM are just colour to a world that doesn't leverage it in any way.
