Let's Play: Lighthouse Keeper (2022) - Part 1 - Errand boy of the seven seas
Welcome to part one of my playthrough of Lighthouse Keeper (2022)
Have you ever wanted to run a lighthouse? A lighthouse that functions on puzzles? And also do everyone's work for them for some reason? And also also really enjoy hitting crabs with rocks in order to turn them into ham hocks you can cook to eat? Then have I got the game for you!
Lighthouse Keeper (the 2022 one, not the gritter black and white one) is a survivalesque game where you are in charge of keeping a lighthouse in working order, and also trying to figure out a way to automate your way out of the job. I mean to be fair, your character didn't really want the job, there were just poor and desperate.
The game features harvesting, crafting, farming, and fishing, and they're all a little janky in their own charming way. In fact that's the best way to describe the entire experience: Janky, but charming. The boat drifts like a race car; there's technically fall damage but you can write it off; You don't ever have to actually sleep, since you can just eat your stamina back up. Oh and everyone you interact with looks like a smoothed-out doll, and each one is more in love with themselves than the last.
You can (and must) sail to other islands in order to find the automation pieces, and there's probably more story than that, but I've not encountered it yet.
