PROS/THINGS THAT MADE ME HYPE
A more diverse cast of characters and even more diverse areas besides just planet Earth like in Legends II makes this game stand out that much more which keeps it high up on my list of faves.
Even though it made some episodes longer to show them off, the Solo Sim Discs are back from Legends II only with a touch of plot
revealed, not really needed, but a nice gesture that helps familiarize newer fans not fully aware of said heroes' background.
Easier means to pull points away from powers you're not using and put them towards ones you do want, character deaths way less costly
(Just wait 5 minutes instead of spending money)
Camera goes for cinematic to try and break up the monotony and offer new ways to go through levels..
Costumes aren't just cosmetic anymore, they actually take the form of passives from the first 2 games so your Powers Menu becomes
just that.
Dr. Doom being the big bad. Why? Cause he's FUCKING Dr. Doom!
Even the PS2/Wii versions of this game while not having as much as PS3/360 is still the same game and a welcome addition no matter what system you have.
And not a single sewer level in sight, unless you count the Skrull Homeworld. :3
CONS/PERSONAL GRIPES
No means to have your characters wait in place, a minor gripe considering how little I used the team tactic menu outside of "follow me" or "wait here". But it has resulted in AI jumping after enemies to their deaths in a few cases.
Giant boss battles become nothing more that God of War inspired mini-games to dispatch them.
Said camera goes for cinematic in certain areas but ends up just being more like another thing "under Doom's control" and can mess with which direction you're walking in and throw you off a bit if you're not expecting it.
Have a favorite costume but think the passives for said costume suck? Deal with it or change to something better "suited" :3
Galactus ends up being a major bitch in this game all things considered and is pretty much this game's version of Mr. Sinister. Still around, but tossed aside when the next game doesn't have said antagonist still doing things.
