Tifa's spending time with family, so Jack gets to play another game he thinks he loves and she... doesn't care for.
Mega Man 10! After the previous game renewed interest in the franchise, we didn't have to wait another decade for a follow-up. 2010 saw the release as a downloadable WiiWare title first, before it came to the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
Mega Man is back again, but still not de-rusted. So once again, no sliding or charging your Mega Buster. But, if you wanted to, you could play as Proto Man from the get go! On top of having those, he also has his trusty shield to block shots with. Neat!
Besides that, it's pretty much the same idea: It looks and plays like the old Mega Man games. But Unlike Mega Man 9, the developers actually bothered making this one not bullshit! Fair and balanced game design finally returns to the series. Hooray! There's a couple of harder moments, but it all works out.
Plus, like Mega Man Powered Up before, this game has an Easy Mode that you can play in if you want less of a challenge. Thanks, Capcom!
Another clear upgrade from the last game: You actually get enough bolts to buy things in the in-game shop. It's kinda sad that that's something to be happy about, but hey, as a Mega Man fan, you take what you can get.
The stages are fun, yet mostly free of unique gimmicks. The music is fine, too and the game looks good, within the self-inflicted 8-bit graphics confines.
Mega Man 10 managed to be a good send off to the series, especially given the dubiously spotty track record. A bit of a shame it ended where it all started, with a basic 8-bit platformer, but it's also kinda poetic that way.
... except that Capcom would eventually make a Mega Man 11 and re-released the previous games in the two Mega Man Legacy Collections to revitalize interest Mega Man once again!
But that's a story for another stream.
The Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, released in 2017, bundles the Mega Man 7 through 10, the DLC for 9 & 10 as unlockables after you have beaten them, as well as a ton of artwork and additional info for each game. Rewind and Save States from the previous collection are gone, but you can enable "Extra Armor Mode", which halves all damage taken.
Since the Legacy Collection 2 is the easiest way to play the game nowadays, that's the version Jack played.
