Well, I know it's been about 3 weeks since we last saw this game, but...we're finally back to it (following some technical difficulties...) With Heat Man and Air Man defeated, we can move on to the next couple of Robot Masters. Wood Man's stage seems to be in some sort of forest, and much of it is apparently inside the trees (or underground?). Wood Man himself is annoying because he can block your shots, his falling leaves are surprisingly hard to dodge, and you have to go under him very carefully if you're playing on the harder difficulty setting. Defeat him, and you get the Leaf Shield, the first-ever shield-type weapon. (I should have shown it off, but I actually completely forgot to demo any of the weapons we've used so far.) Then there is Quick Man...yikes. He is one of the most difficult bosses in the Mega Man series, and his stage is pretty notorious as well, being full of laser beams that instantly kill you. They always come out in exactly the same pattern, though, so the stage poses little threat if you can get the lasers down to muscle memory. The boss, on the other hand...pattern recognition won't save you from him, because the jerk doesn't have a pattern. All he does is jump, run, and shoot sets of 3 boomerangs, but he can pretty much do any of them whenever the heck he wants or jump in whatever arc he pleases. If you're playing the game with special weapons, I would highly recommend just taking Flash Man on prior to Quick Man and using his weapon in the boss fight. Ah well, we won't have to deal with him or Wood Man again until the boss rush.
