Bass is pissed that his creator, Dr. Wily, has resurrected old Robot Masters yet again. He faces Bubble Man, Heat Man, Shadow Man, Gyro Man, Centaur Man, and Plant Man. Once he's through with them, he goes to Wily's Fortress for a showdown against Mad Grinder before facing Wily in his new Skull Machine. After defeating Wily, the two have a bitter heart to heart. Bass proved he's strongest robot Wily will ever build. Wily reveals Bass' creation was only a mere accident after creating a new energy source called Bassnium. This time however he's putting his all into creating a more powerful robot that will wipe the floor with Bass, Mega Man, and anyone else who opposes him. Those who've played the Mega Man X series knows who this is. Wily also mentions another project he's working on to go with this robot to ensure that robots will be at war with humans and each other for a very long, long time.
