Let's Play Menzoberranzan #16: Exploring the Mines
135I wonder how many times over the years I've had a a video in a let's play with a title about exploring mines. They're pretty common in RPGs and also appear in other genres, albeit less frequently. Dark, dingy and full of narrow corridors, they're perfect for setting an eerie atmosphere and for ambushes by those far more used to the stone walls than you are.
Drizzt may be well-versed in the Underdark, but these mines are not a part of that place and so he explores them with eyes as fresh as ours are. We aren't alone in this place, however, and perhaps we are coming to the point where having Drizzt in our group puts us at too much risk of being found by the drow that hunt him.
If only there was a suitable replacement in this place just waiting for our arrival...
