Let's Play Beyond the Edge of Owlsgard #32: 'Saving' the World
90Last time we defeated the AI and saved all the animals, but the world they are to inherit is a desolate, lifeless one. Worse yet, Finn perished in the effort, heroically sacrificing himself so everyone else can have a chance at survival. His actions have given them a glimmer of hope, but it is a pale, faint spark that may very well die in the dead embers of ruination that surround them.
Fortunately for Finn and everyone else, there is a path not taken, something that the game HEAVILY foreshadowed at the end of the bad ending. We have all the things that are needed to go there, so let's see what is there. Mayhaps we might find something that will make a difference.

It's safe to say that I absolutely love this game. It was fantatic from start to finish and was a joy to play. The graphics are lovely, the voice acting superb and the plot was engaging from start to finish. The twist was something that, while foreshadowed, could never fully be anticipated and for the most part the puzzles are great. There were a few things I got stuck on and a couple of pixel hunts - something that modern mode would have made easier - but it never felt it was the game being unfair and the warning to save mitigated the risk of losing progress to death scenes. The number of silly interactions was not enough for me, but that's because I have an insatiatble appetite for them that very few games can meet. There was more than enough for the average player to stumble upon and some were downright hilarious.
Would I recommend this game? Absolutely, both to newcomers to the genre and veterans alike. There's a lot to love here and it's a wonderful experience to play. I'm so glad I helped it along its way by backing it and I hope to see future releases from WatchDaToast which will surely be just as awesome.
