We're nearly through all the caverns that make up the initial descent and I must say that things haven't been as bad as I thought they'd be. There was the aboleth, sure, but the rest of the opponents have been quite managable and the opportunities to rest frequent, not that we've been doing that. The need to keep passweb and flying spells active would have prevented us from doing that but honestly, we've been able to power through with melee might alone.

This might change upon reaching the dwarven mines, however. Long abandoned, the empty halls and corridors are now inhabited by denizens who, while likely not allied with the drow, aren't pleased to see us. It should come as no surprise to anyone that we're going to have to fight our way through this place as well as solve a riddle that promises something truly spectacular.
