Shortly after the events in Carnegie Hall, Aya is then taken back to the 17th to discuss what has happened. Only to find out that their only suspect, Melissa, had burnt down her own apartment and was nowhere to be found. With little to no clues and a mistake at the Press Conference, Aya and Daniel are told to investigate Dr. Hans Klamp, known researcher in the field of Mitochondria. After a long discussion of how much potential a single Mitochondria has energy wise, they're given no more answers and leave more pissed due to lack of info. But things get worse.

Reflecting what she remembered from Melissa/Eve's diary at the Opera show, Aya remembers that she was set to perform in Central Park with a large audience. To make things even more hectic, Ben and Lorraine, Daniel's son and ex-wife respectively, are in attendance. Worried of a potential incident can happen there, Aya and Daniel go but only Aya can pass through due to her own Mitochondria still evolving. Promising her partner and friend she will save his son and ex, Aya rushes to the stage, only to find most of the attendees already changed to a mass of slime, leaving the area as Aya deals both with a monstrous Worm colony and Eve. Only after a Firey chariot run through the park does Eve flee and Aya is knocked out.

The Situation gets worse as the Mayor and NYPD agree to mass evac most of the citizens in the area while US Armed forces try to deal with the incident. The Next morning, Aya is in an apartment complex in SoHo, rescued by Dan who revealed his son had survive but his ex-wife perished in the park after the mutation was triggered. In comes Dr. Kunihiko Maeda, a Japanese scientist who has knowledge of a similar case that occurred in Japan. To make things more trivial? Aya believes she is also a cause of Eve's mutation and possibly responsible for what has been happening...Is She?
