Let's Play Pokémon Sapphire! - #7: "The Fall Of Brawly"
1Welcome, Pokémon Trainers, to our Generation 3 installment in our series of the adventures of Professor Chas through all the generations of the Pokémon World! We are currently in the Hoenn region of Gen 3, taking on Pokémon Sapphire! Just like the Pokémon Silver playthrough, this series will be published Monday through Friday, with roughly half hour episodes to be uploaded per day.
To make this more interesting than a standard Pokémon Sapphire playthrough, I'll be incorporating some adapted Nuzlocke rules to the playthrough. I'll only be capturing a handful of new Pokémon in the Hoenn region, with the majority of my Pokémon team being made up of returning Pokémon from past generations as I carry them on forward with me through the generations. If any of my Pokémon faint, instead of "dying" (like in a standard Nuzlocke), they'll simply suffer an injury that puts them out for the season (i.e. remainder of Sapphire), but will recover in time for the next generation. I'm also adding in another rule: everytime I earn a Gym Badge, I have the option of recovering one injured Pokémon from the PC to return to active duty on the team.
Gen 3 brings a lot of new features to the table: abilities, natures, double battles, new attacks and held items, and of course, a whole new assortment of Pokémon to encounter, capture, and battle. I hope you'll enjoy the ride!
