Let's play RimWorld Alpha 13 and get started in our latest space colony death simulator. Maybe Cassandra will be more merciful than Randy. With viewers beginning to build up and hold down the fort, we will need to take advantage of our resources and some buildings to try and get an optimal start.

But, of course, the Rainforest is quite the jungle -- and the jungle is a dangerous place. Snakes. Cougars. Lots of friendly fluffy critters, sure, but we can't rest on our laurels.

This play through of RimWorld is in a Mountainous Tropical Rain Forest biome set on Cassandra Classic, Challenge difficulty. As Alpha 13 just released, this run will not have mods at least at the start.

What is RimWorld: a sci-fi colony simulator driven by an AI storyteller. The developer's description is succinct, but it tells little of the harrowing tale of survival that each game weaves. Your crashed crew my band together in the year 5500 on a world in the fringes of civilization. Success is based on what you live through, and not necessarily through reaching some overarching goal. So the game is a sandbox through and through. You can relax and build a base or see how quickly the game wishes to punish you -- the choice is yours. And with a great modding community and a supportive developer, expect plenty of great things as RimWorld works its way, slowly, out of Alpha.
