Training in the early game you may think you can skip, but I'll be honest: better suffer early while you have the motivation for grinding than on every single world. Enemies early on, especially the cactus, can and will kill you without mercy. By leveling, you get ahead of the curve ever so slightly which makes Jaster strong enough to survive throughout most of the following areas without too much grinding. Trust me, it's worth it. Especially while you have Desert Claw on your side.
