Rogue Legacy is a "Roguelite" Indie Dungeon Crawler game created by Cellardoor Games that takes place from a 2D perspective. The "roguelite" concept that Rogue Legacy has dubbed for itself basically takes into account the regular "roguelike" rules of permanent-death and loss of your character. It however also incorporates the idea of transferring all of your current stats, equipment and gold to your children and allowing one of them to attempt to conquer what you could not.
The story of Rogue Legacy has you follow the line of descendants from Sir Lee as they attempt to conquer the dungeons that none have ever returned from in order to find a cure for the ill-stricken King and bring glory to your family. Just how far down your lineage will you reach before one of your successors emerges successful?
