Let's Play Salt Lake 2002 (Blind) - Actually 20 Years Ago - Olympic Offal #3
With another Winter Olympics upon us (well, it's here even if it feels more impacted by certain novel coronaviruses than the Tokyo one), it's time to look back at more terrible Olympic video games in Olympic Offal.
This time, we go back 20 years to the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. Gaming was transitioning from the fifth generation (PS1/N64/etc.) to the sixth generation (PS2/Xbox/GameCube/etc.) which meant that all of the classic Olympic games couldn't just be given a fresh coat of paint. They needed to be rebuilt from the ground up for the new consoles. The result in 2002 was a game with only six events and absolutely zero quality control. At least Canada didn't get screwed by the judges unlike the rest of the 2002 Olympics... And the 2022 Olympics.
